We decided to create a bold chip for the habanero lover, one that's incredible as a base for Chilaquiles, Nachos, or just for dipping. Chaya is a super-green, native to our region, commonly found in regional tamales, egg dishes, aguas frescas, and more. We direct source and cook the chaya that goes into every avocado-oil fried YAX chip.

We start with nixtamalized Mexican corn—the traditional process that unlocks the flavor and nutrition of real tortillas. To this, we blend in Chaya: a flavor amplifier, nutrient-dense leafy green, and cultural staple of the Yucatán. The dough is shaped, baked, and lightly fried in 100% avocado oil for a crisp, golden bite. Finally, we season our chips in-house with blends inspired by Yucatán’s bold food culture. Each seasoning is crafted with exceptional attention to heritage and flavor balance, from bright sour orange to smoky habanero. The result? A chip that is authentic, delicious, and unlike anything else in the snack aisle. But YAX is more than a chip—it’s a movement built on community and culture. We work directly with smallholder farmers near Tekax, Mexico, who have cultivated Chaya for generations.
