Using Curio’s ethically sourced spices, Painterland Sisters’ organic yogurt from regenerative farms, crisp and buttery Effie’s Homemade crackers, and smooth, fruity Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Sacramento Valley-based Sutter Buttes, Claire highlights how mission-driven ingredients and bold seasonings create flavor with purpose.

Claire Cheney founded Curio Spice Co. in 2015 to source spices directly from farmers, empower women and share their stories through her unique blends. A writer at heart, she came to obsess over spices through her self-published book about saffron before officially becoming a full-time spice merchant. She worked in the specialty food and restaurant industry for 15 years, fueling a love of food, flavor and storytelling. When not traveling to a new spice destination she can be found painting, cooking or wandering botanical gardens.
