Acetaia Sereni was founded in the early twentieth century by grandmother Santina who looked after the first vinegar factory for a family production of Balsamic Vinegar with scrupulous and rigorous adherence to tradition. In fact, her family already owned some barrels for the production of this excellence at the end of the 19th century. The destinies of Santina and the vinegar factory changed when the family decided to hire a “strong” boy to work in the stable, with whom the girl decided to build her new family. From this love was born Attilio, an enterprising and far-sighted young man, who made it a passion and an investment, in parallel with his main activity as a fruit trader. It was Attilio, together with his son Pier Luigi, who increased production until they began to market the first “Balsamics”. Pier Luigi, a founding member of the Consortium for the Protection of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, as times and commercial needs changed, transformed that small family passion into a real company and, with his wife Elisabetta, began to export the first bottles of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.
