LATINO FARMERS MARKET
Press Releases
Information
The article tells the story of how America DeLoach, founder of the Latino Farmers Market and owner of Salsas Don Sebastian, created Chesterfield County’s first Latino Farmers Market after years of envisioning a space that celebrated Latino culture and supported small entrepreneurs.
Inspired after a visit from Chesterfield County Administrator Dr. Joe Casey to her salsa manufacturing facility, America pitched the idea to the county in early 2024. The county embraced the concept and offered space at Rockwood Park, where the market officially launched on April 6, 2024, with overwhelming community support.
What began with 14 vendors has grown into a vibrant market with Latino, minority, and local vendors offering food, produce, art, music, and cultural experiences. The market also accepts SNAP and EBT, helping improve food access within the community.
The article highlights America’s vision of creating more than just a market — she wanted a cultural and economic platform where Latino entrepreneurs could grow, connect, and share their heritage while creating opportunities for businesses of all sizes.
America also shares her long-term dream of expanding the Latino Farmers Market concept into other cities, creating more opportunities for Latino-owned small businesses throughout Virginia and beyond.
