Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co.

Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co.

Information

Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company was begun in 2009 when a group of community members joined together in an effort to preserve a picturesque 18-acre dairy farm in South Woodstock VT and prevent it from being repurposed or destroyed. With the efforts of an entire community our dream was realized, making us the first community-owned artisan cheese and dairy facility in the state. Through a marriage of authentic cheesemaking practices and innovative and playful partnerships with other specialty food producers and craft breweries, we are creating a new generation of award-winning artisanal cheeses. In 2013 we welcomed Castleton Crackers, and in 2025 Grafton Village Cheese - a multi-award winning artisan cheese company since 1893 - into our family of Vermont brands.
