Winner of 19 Sofi awards over its 41 years, Bronx-based, women-owned Dufour Pastry Kitchens is the leader in frozen, all-butter puff pastry. It is hand-made with just 5 pantry ingredients and an over 50% butter to flour ratio. Dufour also produces hand-crafted, ready-to-bake tart shells for chefs who seek a homemade result. Founders Judi Arnold and Carla Krasner’s surprise to learn caterers and chefs don’t make everything in-house was the “aha” moment that led them to develop labor-saving pastry products of a quality that top chefs can represent as their own. Dufour continues to further creativity in both the chef’s and the home kitchen. In 2025 Dufour proudly launched a certified gluten-free, all-butter puff pastry dough that is so easily workable and delicious that it’s hard to believe it is gluten-free.
